Getting There

• Car

  If you are already in Allegheny National Forest, head towards Tidioute, Pennsylvania. Take PA-666 S from the Allegheny National Forest. Continue on PA-666 S until you reach the intersection with US-62. Turn right onto US-62 N and follow it for approximately 5 miles. Then, turn left onto Tidioute Creek Road, which will lead you directly into the Allegheny National Recreation Area - Western unit. • Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. However, you can take a bus to the nearest major town, Warren, PA. From Warren, you can use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) or rent a car to reach Tidioute, PA. Once you arrive in Tidioute, follow the directions provided for car travel to reach the Allegheny National Recreation Area - Western unit.

• Bicycle

  For those who wish to bike from within the Allegheny National Forest, ensure you are equipped with a suitable bike for off-road conditions. Head towards Tidioute by following the forest roads. Keep in mind that some areas may be unpaved and require caution. Once you reach Tidioute, follow Tidioute Creek Road to access the Recreation Area.
