Car

Starting from any point in Allegheny National Forest, head south on US-219 S toward I-80 E. Merge onto I-80 E and continue for approximately 45 miles. Take exit 57A for I-376 S toward Pittsburgh. Continue on I-376 S for about 30 miles. Take exit 2A for Grant St toward US-19 S. Follow signs for US-19 S and merge onto Grant St. Continue onto Liberty Ave, then turn right onto 6th St. Follow 6th St to the intersection with Arch St, where you will find the National Aviary at 700 Arch St, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Parking is available nearby, with rates varying based on location.
Public Transportation

From Allegheny National Forest, you will need to drive to the nearest public transportation hub, which is in the city of Warren. From Warren, catch the 12/16/32 bus to Pittsburgh (check for the latest schedule on the local public transport website). Once in Pittsburgh, disembark at the Wood St. station. Transfer to the T light rail system and take the 'North Shore' line, disembarking at the 'North Side' station.
