If you are driving, head towards Bongabong from your current location in Mimaropa. Follow the Strong Republic Nautical Highway (also known as National Route 4) until you reach Bongabong. Once in Bongabong, look for the coordinates M94W+R37 on your GPS or mapping application. The San Rafael Cave is located along this highway. Be prepared for a short trek from the parking area to the cave entrance.

To reach San Rafael Cave using public transportation, take a bus heading to Bongabong from your current location in Mimaropa. Buses and vans are available from major towns in Mimaropa, such as Calapan or Puerto Galera. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Bongabong. Once you arrive in Bongabong, you can hire a tricycle to take you to the cave. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, and it should cost around 100-200 PHP, depending on your negotiation skills and distance.

After arriving in Bongabong, if you didn’t take a direct tricycle to the cave from the bus terminal, you can hire a tricycle. The ride to San Rafael Cave from the town center will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Ensure that the driver knows the exact location of the cave. It is advisable to ask the driver to wait for you while you explore the cave, which may incur additional costs.
