Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Davao City. Head south on the Davao-Bansalan Road (National Highway) towards Bansalan. After approximately 60 kilometers, you will reach Bansalan town proper. Once in Bansalan, look for signs pointing to Tinago Falls. Follow the road towards Barangay Don Manuel and then take the road leading to Tinago Falls. This road is well maintained but can be narrow at times. Ensure your vehicle has good clearance as you may encounter rough patches. Upon arrival at the parking area, there may be a parking fee of around PHP 20-50. From the parking lot, you will need to hike down approximately 200 steps to reach the falls.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Davao City to Bansalan. Buses depart from the Ecoland Bus Terminal and the fare typically costs around PHP 150-200. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Bansalan, you can hire a tricycle to take you to the Tinago Falls entrance. The tricycle fare is approximately PHP 100-150. After arriving at the entrance, you will need to walk down about 200 steps to reach the falls.

• Hiking

  If you are an adventurous traveler, you can consider hiking to Tinago Falls from nearby trails within Mt. Apo National Park. However, this route is recommended only for experienced hikers. You will need to secure a local guide and obtain the necessary permits to enter the park, which can cost around PHP 300-500 depending on the guide's fee and park regulations. Be sure to bring adequate supplies and plan for a full day of hiking as the trek can take several hours.
