Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start by heading towards the A2 motorway. Exit at the sign for Setúbal (Exit 13). Once off the motorway, follow the signs for N10 towards Setúbal. After approximately 8 km, you will reach the entrance of Parque Natural da Arrábida. There are several designated parking areas within the park, but be aware that parking may incur a fee, usually around €2-€5 for the day, depending on the location.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Parque Natural da Arrábida using public transportation, take the train from Lisbon (Cais do Sodré station) to Setúbal. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Setúbal, you can take a local bus (line 560) towards Arrábida. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the current bus schedules as they can vary, and prepare for a small fare, usually around €2-€3 for the bus ride.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, there are bike rental shops available in Setúbal. Rent a bike and follow the scenic coastal road towards the park. The distance is about 12 km from Setúbal to the park entrance. The ride is popular but be prepared for some uphill stretches. Ensure you have a helmet and check local bike rental rates, which generally start around €10 for a half-day.

• Walking

  For those already inside the park, walking is a great way to explore. There are numerous trails starting from various parking areas. One popular trail is the one leading to the viewpoint at Cabo Espichel, which offers stunning views of the Atlantic. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Most trails are well-marked, but it's advisable to have a map of the park, which can be picked up at the visitor center.
