Train
From Lisbon, head to the Rossio Train Station (Estação do Rossio). You can get there by taking the Metro (Green Line) to Rossio Station. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Sintra. The train to Sintra runs frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Upon arrival at Sintra Station, exit the station and walk straight ahead. After about 10 minutes, you will reach Praça da República.
Bus
From Lisbon, you can take the bus from the Sete Rios Bus Terminal. Take the Metro (Blue Line) to Jardim Zoológico Station, and follow the signs to the bus terminal. Look for buses heading to Sintra (such as the Scotturb 403 or 417). The bus ride will take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Sintra, you can walk to Praça da República, which is located about 15 minutes away from the bus stop.
Walking
If you are already in Sintra, and near the town center, you can easily reach Praça da República on foot. Start at the Sintra National Palace, and head towards the main square. The walk will take about 10 minutes. Just follow the main road (Rua das Padarias), and you will see signs directing you to Praça da República.
