Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the center of Portimão. Head west on Avenida São João de Deus towards Rua 1 de Maio. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach Estrada da Rocha. Turn left onto Estrada da Rocha and continue for approximately 1.5 km. The San Francisco Convent Ruins will be on your right at Estr. da Rocha 4-22. There is limited street parking available nearby, so be prepared to park a short distance away and walk.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the San Francisco Convent Ruins via public transportation, take the local bus from the Portimão Bus Station. Look for bus lines that head towards Praia da Rocha or Estrada da Rocha. The journey typically takes about 15-20 minutes. Your destination is close to the stop 'Estr. da Rocha'. After you exit the bus, walk south for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at the San Francisco Convent Ruins at Estr. da Rocha 4-22.   If you are already in the vicinity of the Portimão Marina, you can walk to the San Francisco Convent Ruins. Head east from the marina along Avenida da República. Continue straight for about 1.2 km, then turn left onto Rua do Comércio. Follow this street until it intersects with Estrada da Rocha. Turn right onto Estrada da Rocha, and the San Francisco Convent Ruins will be on your left at Estr. da Rocha 4-22. The walk should take approximately 20-25 minutes.
