    If you are in the center of Sintra, start at the Sintra train station. Exit the station and head west on Av. Dr. Miguel Bombarda for about 600 meters until you reach the main square (Praça da República). From there, walk towards the National Palace of Sintra and continue past it until you reach the end of the square. Look for the bus stop that services routes to Lisbon. Take bus 403 towards Lisbon and get off at the stop 'Cais do Sodré'. From Cais do Sodré, walk about 1 km towards Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo. You will find the ELEVADOR da BICA on your left, just after crossing the Rua de São Paulo.

    From Sintra, take the train towards Lisbon from Sintra train station. The train ride takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Rossio station in Lisbon, exit and head towards the metro station. Take the green line from Rossio Station to Cais do Sodré. At Cais do Sodré, follow the signs to Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo. The ELEVADOR da BICA is approximately a 10-minute walk from the metro station. Head up Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo, and you will see the funicular on your right.
