From Yawgoo Valley Ski Area, start by heading southeast on Yawgoo Valley Road. After approximately 2 miles, merge onto Route 138 East. Continue on Route 138 East for about 5 miles until you reach the junction with Route 114. Take the exit for Route 114 South towards Bristol. Colt State Park will be on your left after about 6 miles, just past the intersection with Metacom Avenue. There is no fee to enter the park.

To reach Colt State Park via public transportation, first take the RIPTA bus #60 from the nearest bus stop in Yawgoo Valley to Newport. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at Route 114 and Metacom Avenue. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles north on Route 114 to reach the entrance of Colt State Park. As of now, there is no direct bus service that goes into the park, so ensure you are prepared for the walk.
