Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start from the center of Baia Mare. Head southeast on Strada 1 Mai towards DN18, then take the ramp onto DN1C. Follow DN1C for approximately 35 km until you reach Sighetu Marmației. In Sighetu Marmației, follow the signs for 'Muzeul Etnografic al Maramureșului' which will direct you to Piața Libertății 1. Parking is available nearby, and be prepared for a parking fee of around 5-10 RON.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Muzeul Etnografic al Maramureșului via public transport, take a bus from Baia Mare to Sighetu Marmației. Buses to Sighetu Marmației depart regularly from the Baia Mare bus station and the fare is typically around 15-20 RON. Once you arrive at the Sighetu Marmației bus station, it's a short 10-minute walk to the museum. Exit the bus station, head east on Strada 1 Mai, turn left onto Strada Petru Rareș, and continue straight until you reach Piața Libertății 1.

• Taxi

  For a more convenient option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Maramureș to the museum. Taxis are available in major towns like Baia Mare and Sighetu Marmației. The fare will depend on the distance; from Baia Mare to Sighetu Marmației, expect to pay approximately 100-150 RON. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your trip.

• Walking

  If you are staying in Sighetu Marmației, the museum is easily accessible by foot. From the city center, make your way to Piața Libertății 1. The walk should take around 15-20 minutes. Simply follow the roads leading towards the center, and look for directional signs pointing to the museum.
