Car
If you are driving, start your journey from the center of Drobeta-Turnu Severin. Head southeast on DN6 towards the town of Dubova. Continue on DN6 for about 25 km until you reach the intersection with DN57. Turn left onto DN57 and follow the road for approximately 5 km. You will see signs for Veterani Cave. The cave is located right off the road, with a parking area nearby. Be sure to check for any parking fees, which may apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Veterani Cave by public transport, first take a bus from Drobeta-Turnu Severin to the town of Dubova. Buses are usually available daily, but it is advisable to check the schedule in advance. Once you arrive in Dubova, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for a local transport service to reach the cave, as it is about 5 km away. Expect to pay a taxi fare of approximately 20-30 RON for the short ride.
Walking
If you are near Dubova and prefer walking, you can hike from the town to Veterani Cave. The route is approximately 5 km and takes about 1-1.5 hours. Start by following the road DN57 from Dubova towards the cave. The path is relatively straightforward, but be prepared for some inclines and natural terrain. Ensure you wear suitable footwear and bring water, especially during warmer months.
