Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Sighișoara Train Station, exit the station and head southeast on Strada Gării towards Strada 1 Decembrie 1918. After about 200 meters, turn right onto Strada 1 Decembrie 1918. Continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Strada Liviu Rebreanu. Turn left onto Strada Liviu Rebreanu, and shortly after, you will arrive at the entrance of the Citadel, located on Piața Cetății. The walk will take around 15-20 minutes.

  • Walking

    From the main square (Piața Mare), head northeast towards Strada Cetății. Continue walking until you reach the entrance to the Citadel, which will be on your left. The Citadel is easily recognizable by its fortified walls and towers, and the walk should take no more than 10 minutes.

    If you are near the Clock Tower (Turnul cu Ceas), exit towards the south and walk down Strada Tineretului. Continue straight until you reach the entrance to the Citadel at Piața Cetății. The Citadel is just a few hundred meters away, and the walk will take around 5 minutes.

    Starting from the Sighișoara History Museum located at Strada Cetății, walk east along Strada Cetății for about 200 meters. You will see the Citadel walls ahead. Continue towards Piața Cetății where the main entrance to the Citadel is located. This route is about a 3-minute walk.
