If you are traveling by car within Akagera National Park, start from the Park Headquarters near the main entrance. Follow the main road that leads through the park. Continue driving for approximately 15 kilometers (about 30 minutes) until you reach the junction signposted for Lake Birengero. Take the left turn at the junction and follow the dirt road for another 5 kilometers. The lake will be on your right-hand side. Make sure to have a park map for reference.
