Car
If you are traveling by car, begin your journey from Musanze, which is one of the major towns in the Northern Province. Head southeast on the RN4 road, also known as the Ruhengeri-Kigali road. Continue on RN4 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction near Kinigi. At the junction, take a left turn onto the Rulindo road. Drive for another 10 kilometers. You will then see signs directing you towards Ruhindi. Follow these signs; the road will lead you through scenic landscapes. After about 15 minutes, you will arrive at the base of Ruhindi. Parking is available at designated areas around the mountain.

Public Transportation
To reach Ruhindi using public transportation, start in Musanze town. Go to the main bus station and look for a bus heading towards Rulindo. The fare is usually around 1,500 Rwandan Francs (approx. $1.50 USD) and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you reach the Rulindo stop, you will need to take a moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) to get closer to Ruhindi. The fare for the moto-taxi is typically 1,000 Rwandan Francs (approx. $1.00 USD). Inform the driver that you want to go to Ruhindi, and they will take you as close as possible to the mountain. The ride should take about 15 minutes.

Combination of Car and Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can drive part of the way and then hike. Start from Musanze and take the same route via RN4 and Rulindo road as mentioned for car travel. Drive until you reach the base of Ruhindi. There is a parking area where you can leave your vehicle. From there, you can hike to the peak of Ruhindi. The hiking path is well-marked, and the hike itself takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear appropriate hiking gear and carry water with you.
