Car
If you are traveling by car from the Volcanoes National Park entrance, head east on the main road towards Ruhengeri. Continue for about 12 kilometers until you reach the junction at HHC3+JJM. Turn right at this junction and follow the signs for Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. The lodge will be on your left-hand side after approximately 3 kilometers.

Public Transportation
To reach Mountain Gorilla View Lodge using public transportation, take a local bus from the park entrance to Ruhengeri. Buses run frequently throughout the day, and the ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Ruhengeri, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) to take you directly to the lodge. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting the ride; it should cost around 2,000 Rwandan Francs.

For the adventurous traveler, if you are already within a reasonable distance from Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, you can opt to walk. From the park’s visitor center, head towards the main road and follow the directions to Ruhengeri. It’s about a 5-6 kilometer trek, so be prepared with comfortable footwear and water. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
