Walking
If you are in the center of Charlestown, head south toward the coast. You will see the main road leading to the waterfront. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the main road leading to Basseterre. At this intersection, turn left and follow the road for approximately 1.5 kilometers. As you approach Basseterre, you will see signs directing you to Independence Square. Once you reach the square, you will find it on your right, easily recognizable by its beautiful surroundings and historical significance.

From the Charlestown Ferry Terminal, exit the terminal and walk toward the main road. Turn right and walk along the coast for about 200 meters until you reach the main intersection. At the intersection, turn left onto the main road towards Basseterre. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers, keeping an eye out for directional signs for Independence Square. The square will be on your right side as you enter Basseterre.
