Walking
If you are in the heart of Vieux Fort, start by heading north on the main street, Laborie Road, towards the roundabout. Continue straight through the roundabout and take the first left onto the A1 highway. Follow the A1 highway for approximately 7 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you towards Owia. Once you approach the Owia area, look for a sign indicating the Owia Salt Pond. The entrance will be on your right, and you can follow the path leading to the pond.

From the center of Vieux Fort, locate the minibus terminal where minibuses to Owia are stationed. Board a minibus heading to Owia. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes, and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful countryside views during the journey. Once you arrive in Owia, ask the driver to drop you off near the Owia Salt Pond, or simply follow the signs leading to the pond which is a short walk away from the main road.
