Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Vieux Fort, head northwest on Laborie Street towards the waterfront. Continue walking along the waterfront until you reach the main road. At the intersection, turn left onto the main road (Route 6). Walk along this road for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by local shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for public transport vehicles, as they may stop to pick you up. After you have walked for about 1.5 kilometers, you will see signs directing you towards Black Bay on your right. Follow the signs to reach the bay.

  • Public Transport (Minibus)

    From the center of Vieux Fort, walk to the minibus station located near the market. Look for a minibus heading towards Laborie or Black Bay. The fare is usually very affordable, around 2-5 EC dollars. Once you are on the minibus, inform the driver that you are going to Black Bay. The journey will take about 10-15 minutes. The minibus will drop you off at the nearest point to Black Bay, from where you can walk to the beach. Follow the path to your right until you reach the bay.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer a more active approach, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Vieux Fort. Start by heading northwest on Laborie Street towards the waterfront. Once you reach the waterfront, continue along the Route 6 heading towards Laborie. The distance is about 1.5 kilometers, and cycling will allow you to enjoy the scenery. Upon reaching the designated area for Black Bay, park your bike and follow the signs to the beach.
