Getting There

Walking
From Port Elizabeth, head northeast on Main Street towards the beach. Continue walking along the coast until you reach the junction with the road leading to Lower Bay. Turn left onto the road leading to Lower Bay and follow it until you reach the end of the bay. From there, continue along the path that leads to the north side of Bequia. After about 30-40 minutes of walking, you will reach the Owia Salt Pond area, where the pond is located.

Boat
From Port Elizabeth, you can hire a local fishing boat or a water taxi to take you to Owia. Approach the dock area and speak with the boat operators. The journey usually takes around 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at Owia, follow the path from the dock to the Owia Salt Pond, which is a short walk away.

Public Transport (Minibus)
From Port Elizabeth, walk to the bus terminal located near the ferry dock. Look for a minibus heading to Owia. The fare is usually inexpensive, and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Owia, ask the driver to drop you off near the Salt Pond. The pond is a short walk from the bus stop.
