If you are driving from the capital of Principe Island, Santo António, head southeast on Avenida de São Tomé towards Rua de São João. Continue for approximately 6 km until you reach the turnoff for Porto Real. Follow the signs to Porto Real, and after about 8 km, you will see a sign for Pico Papagaio. The last stretch will be on a dirt road, which may require a 4x4 vehicle depending on the weather conditions. Park your car at the designated area and proceed on foot to the hiking trail leading to Pico Papagaio.

To reach Pico Papagaio using public transportation, take a shared taxi (known as 'táxi colectivo') from Santo António to Porto Real. The fare is typically around 2,500 Dobra (STN) per person. Inform the driver that you are going to Pico Papagaio; they may drop you off at the nearest point to the hiking trail. From there, you will need to walk about 1.5 km along a dirt path. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and bring water for the hike.
