Walking
If you are staying in the central area of La Digue, you can reach the Inter Island Ferry terminal by simply walking. Head towards the coast in the direction of the La Digue jetty, which is located near the main harbor. As you walk, you will pass by local shops and restaurants. Keep an eye out for the sea to guide you, as the ferry terminal is right by the water. It should take approximately 15-20 minutes to walk there from most accommodations in the central area.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle, which is a popular and convenient way to explore La Digue. From the main village area, cycle towards the coast, following the signs to the ferry terminal. The ride should only take about 10 minutes. As you ride, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the island and be cautious of pedestrians and other cyclists on the road. The ferry terminal is located right by the waterfront, making it easy to find.
Local Taxi (Pousse Pousse)
If you prefer not to walk or cycle, you can take a local taxi, known as a Pousse Pousse (a traditional bicycle taxi). Simply find a Pousse Pousse near your hotel or along the main road and tell the driver you want to go to the Inter Island Ferry terminal. The journey will only take about 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic, and you can enjoy the scenic ride while the driver navigates through the charming streets of La Digue.
