Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Victoria, the capital of Mahé. Head north on the main road (the A1). Drive for approximately 15 km until you reach the junction near the Beau Vallon area. At the junction, continue straight on the A1 until you reach the Anse Major turn-off, which is well signposted. Turn left onto the road leading towards Anse Major. The road will narrow and become a bit bumpy, so drive slowly. After about 5 km, you'll reach the parking area near the beach, where you can leave your car. From here, follow the walking path that leads directly to Anse Major Beach, which takes about 10-15 minutes on foot.
Public Transportation
To reach Anse Major using public transportation, start at the Victoria bus station. Look for the bus heading to Beau Vallon; this is bus number 21. The fare is around 7 SCR (Seychellois Rupees). Once you reach Beau Vallon, get off the bus and walk to the junction where you will see signs for Anse Major. Here, you will need to take a taxi or a local shuttle service, which may cost around 100-200 SCR to reach the Anse Major parking area. From the parking lot, follow the marked trail to Anse Major Beach, which takes about 10-15 minutes on foot.
Hiking
For the more adventurous, you can hike to Anse Major from the nearby Anse Major trailhead. If you're already near the northern coast, locate the trailhead near Port Glaud. The hike is about 45 minutes to an hour through beautiful scenery with stunning views of the coastline. Make sure to wear good hiking shoes and bring water, as the trail can be steep and rugged.
