If you are starting from the center of Freetown, head towards the National Museum of Sierra Leone. From the museum, walk towards Siaka Stevens Street. Continue straight along this road until you reach the intersection with Tower Hill. Turn left onto Tower Hill and continue walking for about 10 minutes. You will pass local shops and small eateries along the way. As you approach the area marked 'FQM8+HCM', look for local signs directing you to Bastion des Fort Thornton, which will be located slightly uphill on your right.

If you are near the Cotton Tree, walk south towards Jomo Kenyatta Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Siaka Stevens Street. Turn right and follow Siaka Stevens Street until you reach Tower Hill. Turn left onto Tower Hill and walk for approximately 10 minutes, keeping an eye out for the signs directing you to Bastion des Fort Thornton. The monument will be located to your right as you ascend the hill.

For those coming from the beach area, head towards the main road (Lumley Beach Road). Walk northeast until you reach the junction with the main city road. Turn right to head into the city center, passing through local markets. Keep walking until you find yourself at the intersection with Tower Hill, where you will turn left. Continue walking uphill for about 10 minutes, and you will notice Bastion des Fort Thornton on your right.
