Walking
Start at the central market in Freetown, known as the Big Market. From there, head southwest towards Siaka Stevens Street. Continue along Siaka Stevens Street until you reach the junction with Pademba Road. Turn left onto Pademba Road and walk straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with George Street. Turn right onto George Street and keep walking until you find yourself at the intersection with Campbell Street. From here, you will see signs leading towards the beach area. Continue walking towards the beach, passing through the streets until you reach the coastline. Once you reach the coast, you will need to follow the coastline heading north. Look out for local signs or ask locals for directions to 'Climb Salone'. It's located along the unnamed road off the coast, so keep your eyes peeled for any landmarks or signs indicating its location.
Public Transport (Mini Bus)
Head to the nearest bus station in Freetown, which is typically located near the Big Market. Look for a mini bus heading towards the 'East End' or 'Lumley Beach'. Once you get on the bus, inform the conductor that you want to get off at Lumley Beach. The ride should take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. After getting off at Lumley Beach, walk along the coast heading north. You’ll need to ask locals for specific directions to 'Climb Salone' as it is located along an unnamed road that branches off from the beach. They will be familiar with the area and can guide you accordingly.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can start your journey from central Freetown. Ride towards Siaka Stevens Street and continue on this road until you reach Pademba Road. Once there, turn left and cycle straight for approximately 15 minutes. When you reach George Street, turn right and continue until you hit Campbell Street. From Campbell Street, navigate towards the coastline. Once you reach the coast, cycle north along the beach. Look for any signs or ask locals for directions to 'Climb Salone' as it is situated along an unnamed road off the beach.
