Boat
To reach Green Island from Freetown, head to the Freetown Ferry Terminal located at the end of Siaka Stevens Street. From the center of Freetown, you can walk or take a shared taxi (known as a ' poda poda') to the terminal. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for a boat heading to Green Island. The boat ride typically takes about 30 minutes. Make sure to check the schedule for departure times and arrive early to secure a spot.
Walking
If you are already near the coast in Freetown, you can walk to the ferry terminal. From the popular Cotton Tree landmark, head southwest towards the waterfront. Continue walking until you reach Siaka Stevens Street, and follow it to the end where the ferry terminal is located. This walk will take around 20-30 minutes, and you’ll enjoy views of the bustling city as you make your way to the terminal.
