Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start from Sucker Garden and head southeast on Sucker Garden Road. Follow the road until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto A.T. Illidge Road. Continue on this road until it turns into Walter Nisbeth Road. As you approach Philipsburg, keep left to stay on Walter Nisbeth Road, which will take you directly into the town. Once in Philipsburg, turn right onto Voorstraat. The Sint Maarten National Heritage Foundation & Museum will be on your right at 7 Voorstraat. Parking may be available nearby, but keep in mind that there could be parking fees depending on the area.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus or taxi from Sucker Garden to Philipsburg. Look for a bus labeled 'Philipsburg' at the nearest bus stop. The fare is typically quite reasonable, around $2-3 USD per person. Once you arrive in Philipsburg, get off at the main bus terminal or the nearest stop. From there, walk towards Voorstraat, which is a short distance away. The Sint Maarten National Heritage Foundation & Museum is located at 7 Voorstraat. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions if needed.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk and are close enough to Philipsburg, you can take a scenic route from Sucker Garden. Head southeast on Sucker Garden Road towards A.T. Illidge Road. From there, walk along the coastal road, enjoying the views. This route will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Philipsburg, head to Voorstraat where the museum is located at 7 Voorstraat. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes as the walk can be quite long.
