Travel Guide to Luna Park

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Velka Fatra National Park. Head southeast on the main road (D1) towards Martin. Continue on D1 for about 20 km until you reach the exit for Martin-Priekopa (exit 39). Take the exit and merge onto Route 18 towards Priekopa. Follow Route 18 for approximately 5 km, and you will see signs for Luna Park. The park is located at Priekopa, 036 01 Martin-Priekopa. There is parking available near the entrance, which may incur a small fee.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from the main bus station in Velka Fatra National Park to Martin. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Martin bus station, transfer to a local bus heading to Priekopa. The local bus will take approximately 15 minutes. Disembark at the Priekopa stop, which is within walking distance of Luna Park. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary, especially on weekends.

• Bicycle

  Cyclists can enjoy a scenic ride to Luna Park. Starting from the nearby trails in Velka Fatra, head towards the main road that leads to Martin. Follow the cycling paths if available or use the roadside (be cautious of traffic). The distance from popular cycling routes in the park to Luna Park is approximately 15 km. Ensure you have a bike lock, as you can secure your bike at the entrance of the park.

• Walking

  For those adventurous enough to walk, starting from nearby hiking trails in Velka Fatra, you can make your way towards Martin-Priekopa. The walk will take approximately 3-4 hours depending on your starting point. Follow marked hiking paths towards the town and then navigate to Route 18 towards Priekopa. Ensure you wear good hiking shoes and carry water, as the journey can be strenuous.
