Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Ljubljana's main train station (Železniška postaja), exit the station and head southwest along Trg Osvobodilne Fronte. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Here, take the first exit onto Slovenska cesta. Walk along Slovenska cesta for about 10 minutes until you reach a large intersection. Continue straight ahead until you see the beautiful architecture of the National Museum on your right. Just past the museum, turn left onto Prešernova ulica, and walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will see Prešeren Square (Prešernov trg) ahead, marked by the impressive statue of the poet France Prešeren.

    If you are coming from the bustling area of Tivoli Park, exit the park at the north end, and head towards the city center. Walk down the path leading to the main road called Vilharjeva cesta. Turn right and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Miklošičeva cesta. Cross over and head straight, passing by the beautiful buildings of the University of Ljubljana. Continue walking until you reach the iconic Triple Bridge (Tromostovje). Cross the bridge, and you will find yourself at Prešeren Square right next to the Franciscan Church.

    If you are near the Ljubljana Castle, make your way down from the castle towards the city center. Walk down the hill to the main street leading to Stari trg. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where you will turn right onto the main road. Follow this road, passing by several shops and cafes, until you see the Triple Bridge. From there, simply cross the bridge, and Prešeren Square will be directly in front of you.
