Buses to Cerknica typically depart every hour, so check the schedules in advance. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride which takes about 45 minutes. Upon arrival at the Cerknica bus station, exit the bus and head towards the main road (Cesta 1. maja). Walk straight for approximately 1.5 km until you see signs for Rakov Škocjan. Follow the signs, and you will reach the entrance to the ravine.

    Begin your journey at the Ljubljana train station. Purchase a ticket for a train to the nearest station, which is Rakek. The train journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Rakek train station, transfer to a local bus that goes to Cerknica. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. When you arrive in Cerknica, walk towards the main road (Cesta 1. maja) and follow the signs for Rakov Škocjan, which is about 2 km away. You may also ask locals for directions if needed.
