From the center of Nova Gorica, head towards the main street, Ulica Tolminskih Puntarjev, and walk south. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Ulica Koroška. Turn left on Ulica Koroška and walk for about 10 minutes. You will cross the border into Italy without any checks. Upon entering Italy, follow the signs towards Trieste. Keep walking straight for about 30 minutes until you reach the picturesque Piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste, a major landmark in the city.
Bus
From Nova Gorica, make your way to the main bus station, Avtobusna Postaja Nova Gorica, located at the corner of Ulica Tolminskih Puntarjev and Ulica Koroška. Purchase a ticket to Trieste. Buses run regularly and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Trieste Bus Station (Piazza della Libertà), exit the station and head towards the waterfront. Walk straight for about 10 minutes to reach the main attractions in Trieste, including the famous Piazza Unità d'Italia.
Train
Start by walking to the Nova Gorica Train Station, located on Ulica Tolminskih Puntarjev. Check the schedule for trains to Trieste, which typically run every hour. The train ride will take about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Trieste Train Station (Stazione di Trieste Centrale), exit the station and head towards the city center. Follow the signs towards Piazza Unità d'Italia, which is approximately a 15-minute walk.
