If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Hogsback from any point in the Amatola Mountains. Look for the signs directing you to Hogsback, which is well-marked from the N2 highway. Once you reach Hogsback, follow the main road into the village. Continue straight until you reach the entrance to Hogsback State Forest. There is a parking area available near the entrance. From here, you can begin your hike to Madonna & Child Waterfalls. The trail to the waterfalls is well marked, but be prepared for a steep descent.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus or taxi to Hogsback from the nearest town, which is Alice. Once in Hogsback, your best option is to arrange for local transport (such as a taxi) to the entrance of Hogsback State Forest. Upon arrival at the forest, you will need to hike to reach Madonna & Child Waterfalls. The trail is marked, but please be aware that the hike can be steep and may require good walking shoes.

For those already in the vicinity and looking for a hiking-only option, you can start your hike from the village of Hogsback. Head towards the entrance of Hogsback State Forest, where you will find signs indicating the trail to Madonna & Child Waterfalls. The hike is approximately 3 kilometers one way, and while the trail is beautiful, it is steep in places. Make sure to bring water and wear appropriate hiking gear.
