Once you board the bus, notify the driver that you're going to Kanawha State Forest. The bus will take you along the main routes and drop you off at the nearest stop to the forest entrance. From there, it’s a short walk to the entrance at 7500 Kanawha State Forest Dr. Follow the signs to the park trails and facilities.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, consider renting a bike from one of the local rental shops in downtown Charleston. Once you have your bike, head west towards the Kanawha State Forest. You can take Kanawha Blvd to reach the forest. It’s about a 30-40 minute ride depending on your pace. Follow the route along the river and then take a left on Greenbrier St. Continue straight until you reach Kanawha State Forest Dr. Once you arrive, park your bike at the designated area and enjoy the beautiful trails and scenery.

If you’re feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, you can head to Kanawha State Forest on foot. From downtown Charleston, make your way to the intersection of Kanawha Blvd and Clendenin St. Take Kanawha Blvd heading west, which will eventually lead you towards the forest. It's about a 2.5 to 3-mile walk and will take approximately 1 hour. Along the way, enjoy the views of the river and local scenery. Upon reaching Kanawha State Forest Dr, follow the signs to the park entrance.
