Car
If you are driving within Custer State Park, head towards Custer. From the center of the park, take the Needles Highway (SD-87) south until you reach the junction with US-16A. Continue on US-16A, which will lead you directly into Custer City. Once in town, follow signs for Mt Rushmore Road (SD-16). Sylvan Rocks Climbing School and Guide Service is located at 632 Mt Rushmore Rd, Custer, SD 57730, on the left side of the road. Look for their signage and parking space available.

Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in Custer State Park, but you can check for any local shuttle services that might operate from Custer City. If you can get a ride to the town of Custer, you can walk to the climbing school from there. It is about a 0.5-mile walk from the center of town to Sylvan Rocks. Head north on Mt Rushmore Road, and you will see the location on your left. Make sure to check local schedules in advance.

If you are in Custer State Park and prefer a more adventurous route, consider biking or walking. From any point in the park, make your way to the main road leading to Custer. Once on Mt Rushmore Road, follow it towards the town of Custer, and you will find Sylvan Rocks Climbing School and Guide Service at 632 Mt Rushmore Rd. Ensure you are equipped for the distance and have a water supply, as it can be quite a trek on foot.
