Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Deadwood, start at the intersection of Main St and Sherman St. Head east on Sherman St for about 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with Mt Roosevelt Rd. Turn left onto Mt Roosevelt Rd. Continue walking along Mt Roosevelt Rd for approximately 2.5 miles. This road is a gradual incline, and you will begin to see signs for Mount Roosevelt Memorial. As you approach, the trailhead will be visible on your left, leading up to the memorial.

    If you have a bike, start at the Deadwood city park located on Pine St. Head east on Pine St until you reach the intersection with Main St. Turn left on Main St and continue until you reach Sherman St. Turn right on Sherman St and follow it until you reach Mt Roosevelt Rd. Turn left and bike along Mt Roosevelt Rd for about 2.5 miles. The memorial trailhead will be on your left, and you can lock your bike at the designated area before heading up the trail.
