Getting There

Walking

Start at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial visitor center. Head south on SD-244 towards US-16. Continue walking on SD-244 for about 1.5 miles. You will reach the junction with US-16. At this point, follow the pedestrian path that leads towards Custer. Keep walking for approximately 0.5 miles until you reach the Custer State Park entrance. From the entrance, continue walking on the designated trails leading into Custer State Park, where Norbeck Wildlife Preserve is located. Follow the signs for Norbeck Wildlife Preserve which will guide you through the scenic routes.
Biking

Begin your journey at Mount Rushmore's visitor center. Rent a bike from a local rental shop if you don't have one. Start off by biking south on SD-244 for about 1.5 miles. Merge onto US-16 and continue biking for about 0.5 miles. Look for signs indicating the entrance to Custer State Park. Once inside the park, follow the biking paths that lead towards the Norbeck Wildlife Preserve. Pay attention to the trail markers to ensure you stay on the correct route towards the preserve.
Public Transport
