Getting There

  • Subway

    Take Line 1 (the Blue Line) from any station towards 'Seoul Station' and transfer at 'City Hall Station'. At City Hall Station, transfer to Line 2 (the Green Line) and take it towards 'Jamsil'. Get off at 'Euljiro 1-ga Station'. From Exit 1 of Euljiro 1-ga Station, walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach Sejongno. Heungnyemun Gate will be on your left.

    Find a bus stop near you and take a bus that goes towards 'Gwanghwamun'. Make sure to check the bus number, as several buses operate in this area. Get off at the 'Sejong Center' stop. From there, walk towards the Sejongno area, and you will see Heungnyemun Gate ahead as you approach.

    If you are staying near Gyeongbokgung Palace, you can easily walk to Heungnyemun Gate. Head south from the palace towards Sejongno. It’s a pleasant walk that should take about 15 minutes. Follow the signs to 'Sejong Centre' and you will see Heungnyemun Gate as you approach the main road.
