Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards Málaga city center. From the A-7 motorway, take exit 233 for A-45 toward Málaga. Continue onto Avenida de Andalucía (N-340). Once in the city, follow signs for Centro and then for Castillo de Gibralfaro. There is limited parking available near the castle; be prepared to park in public lots nearby and walk the remaining distance.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  Take a bus from your location in Costa del Sol to Málaga. The most convenient option is the Málaga city bus (lines 35 or 3) from the bus station or central areas. Get off at the stop 'Alameda Principal' and transfer to line 2, which goes to 'Gibralfaro.' After a short ride, alight at the stop 'Camino de Gibralfaro.' From there, it's a 15-minute uphill walk to the castle entrance. Ensure you have a ticket, which costs around €1.40.

• Public Transportation - Train and Bus

  If you're near a train station, take a train to Málaga María Zambrano station. From there, exit and find the main bus station right next to the train station. Take bus line 35 or 3 to 'Alameda Principal' and then switch to line 2 toward 'Gibralfaro.' Get off at 'Camino de Gibralfaro' and walk up the hill to the castle. A train ticket will cost approximately €5-10 depending on your starting point, and the bus will cost about €1.40.
