Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from any location in Costa del Sol, take the A-7 motorway towards Málaga. Follow the signs for 'Málaga Centro' and exit at 'Málaga Centro'. Continue on Avenida de la Aurora and then turn onto Calle de la Alameda Principal. Follow this road until you reach the roundabout at Plaza de la Merced. From there, take the exit onto Calle Gibralfaro and follow the signs to 'Castillo de Gibralfaro'. The road will take you up to Mirador de Gibralfaro. There is usually street parking available, but be mindful of parking regulations. Note that parking in Málaga can incur costs, typically around €1.50 to €2.00 per hour.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Mirador de Gibralfaro via public transportation, start by taking the commuter train (Cercanías) from any station in Costa del Sol to Málaga Centro-Alameda station. From there, you can either take bus line 35 towards 'Gibralfaro' or walk to the bus stop at Avenida de la Aurora and catch the bus. The bus ride will take around 20 minutes. Alternatively, if you prefer to walk, it’s a steep uphill walk of approximately 30 minutes from the station to the viewing point, so be prepared for a bit of exercise. The bus ticket typically costs around €1.40.

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a rideshare service like Uber. Simply request a ride to 'Mirador de Gibralfaro' or 'Castillo de Gibralfaro'. The ride from central Málaga will take approximately 10 minutes, depending on traffic. The fare may vary but expect to pay around €10-€15. This option is convenient, especially for families or groups.
