Walking
If you are staying in the city center, start at Plaza de la Constitución. From there, head southwest on Calle Larios, the main shopping street, until you reach the intersection with Calle Granada. Turn left onto Calle Granada, and continue walking until you reach the Plaza de la Merced. At the Plaza de la Merced, you will see the statue of Picasso. From here, walk up Calle Alcazabilla, and the Alcazaba will be on your left at C/ Alcazabilla, 2. It should take around 15-20 minutes on foot.

If you are further away in Málaga, you can take a bus to get closer to the Alcazaba. Locate a nearby bus stop and take the 'Line 1' or 'Line 11' which both stop at Plaza de la Merced. Once you get off at Plaza de la Merced, follow the walking directions from there as mentioned above. The bus ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on your starting point.
