Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, head east on Rúa do Vilar. Walk straight for about 200 meters until you reach Praza de Praterías. Continue straight onto Rúa de San Pedro until you reach the intersection with Rúa Costa de San Domingos. Turn left and walk about 150 meters. The Museo del Pueblo Gallego will be on your right side at Costa de San Domingos, s/n.

    If you are closer to the city center, you can take the bus from the nearest bus stop. Head to the 'Praza de Galicia' bus stop and take bus line 5 in the direction of 'Santiago de Compostela - Parque de la Música'. Get off at the 'Museo do Pobo Galego' stop. The museum will be directly in front of you, just across the street.

    If you are near the Mercado de Abastos (the local food market), exit the market and head south on Rúa de San Pedro. Walk for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Costa de San Domingos. Turn right onto Costa de San Domingos and continue walking for about 50 meters.
