Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from Galle Fort, head towards the main entrance of the Fort, which is located on the northern side. Exit through the gate and turn left onto the ramparts. Walk along the ramparts in a clockwise direction, enjoying the ocean views. Continue walking until you reach the Zwart Bastion. It will be located along the outer edge of the fortifications.

    If you're at Galle Railway Station, exit the station and walk towards the main road, which is the A2 highway. Head south on the A2 for about 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance of Galle Fort. Once inside the Fort, follow the same walking directions as mentioned above to the Zwart Bastion.

    From the Galle Bus Stand, head south on the A2 highway for approximately 800 meters until you reach the entrance to Galle Fort. Once you enter the Fort, walk towards the ramparts, and follow the path along the walls in a clockwise direction to reach Zwart Bastion.
