Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from any location within North Western Province, head towards Puttalam on the A12 highway. Once you reach Puttalam, follow the signs towards Kalpitiya on the A14 road. Continue straight on the A14, passing through the towns of Munasgamua and Kandakuliya. After about 35 kilometers, you will see signs for Kudawa Beach. Turn left at the sign and follow the road until you reach the beach area. Parking is available near the beach entrance.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Kudawa Beach by public transportation, take a bus from Puttalam to Kalpitiya, which is available frequently. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and the fare is around 100-150 LKR. Once you arrive at Kalpitiya, you can take a tuk-tuk or walk to Kudawa Beach, which is about 5 kilometers away from the bus station. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you at the Kudawa Beach entrance.

• Tuk-Tuk

  If you are already in Kalpitiya and prefer a more direct route, you can hire a tuk-tuk. The fare from Kalpitiya town to Kudawa Beach is typically around 300-500 LKR, depending on your negotiation skills and the time of day. The journey is short, approximately 15 minutes.

• Bicycle Rental

  For the more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Kalpitiya. The ride to Kudawa Beach is scenic and takes about 30-45 minutes. Rental shops are available in Kalpitiya, and prices are usually around 500 LKR for half a day. Make sure to bring water and sunscreen for the ride.
