Start from the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum, located on A1 (also known as the Gal Viharaya road). Head eastward on A1 for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Isipathana Road. Turn left onto Isipathana Road and continue walking straight for approximately 1 kilometer. You will see the Isipathanarama Rajamaha Viharaya on your right. If you rent a bicycle at a local shop in Polonnaruwa, begin at the Polonnaruwa Vatadage (approximately 1.5 km from the temple). Cycle north on the road towards the Archaeological Museum. Turn left onto Isipathana Road and cycle straight for about 1 kilometer. The temple will be on your right.
