Linafallet: A Serene Haven for Nature Lovers

Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Linafallet, head towards the village of Rätan located in Swedish Lapland. From Östersund, take E14 towards Krokom for about 50 kilometers. Once you reach Krokom, take the exit towards Road 87. Follow Road 87 for approximately 20 kilometers until you see signs for Rätan. Continue on this road for about 15 kilometers. As you approach Rätan, look for signs directing you to Linafallet, which is located roughly 5 kilometers from the center of Rätan. Parking is available near the falls.

• Public Transportation

  For those traveling by public transport, take a bus from Östersund to Rätan. The bus service is operated by Länstrafik Jämtland and travels several times a day. After arriving in Rätan, you will need to arrange for a taxi to take you to Linafallet, as public transport does not reach the falls directly. Expect the taxi fare to be around 200-300 SEK, depending on the time of day and the taxi service. It's advisable to book the taxi in advance, especially during peak tourist season.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, cycling to Linafallet is a fantastic option. Rent a bicycle in Östersund and take the same route towards Rätan. The total distance is approximately 70 kilometers, which can be completed in a day. Ensure you have a good map or GPS, as some roads may be less busy and suitable for cycling. Once in Rätan, follow local signs to Linafallet, which is about a 5-kilometer ride from the village.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Rätan and want to enjoy a scenic walk, you can hike to Linafallet. The walk is about 5 kilometers and takes approximately 1-1.5 hours. Follow the marked paths that lead from the center of Rätan towards the falls. Ensure you have suitable footwear and check the weather before setting out, as the terrain can be uneven.
