Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Locarno train station, exit the station and head south towards the main road, Via delle Stazioni. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Via C. B. Weibel. Turn left onto Via C. B. Weibel and continue walking until you reach the end of the street where it meets Piazza Grande. The square will be directly ahead, a popular pedestrian area with shops and cafes.

From the main waterfront area at Lungolago, walk east along the lakeside promenade. Enjoy the views of Lake Maggiore as you stroll. After about 15 minutes, you will reach the end of the promenade. From there, turn left onto Via N. M. B. and continue straight. This will lead you directly to Piazza Grande.

Public Transport
If you are in the Ascona area, take a bus from Ascona to Locarno. The bus stop is located near the lakefront. Board the bus heading to Locarno, and it will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Locarno bus station, exit and walk straight down Via delle Stazioni to reach Piazza Grande, which is about a 5-minute walk.

If you are near the Visconteo Castle, exit the castle grounds and head south on Via Visconti. Continue until you reach the intersection with Via C. B. Weibel. Turn right and walk straight until you arrive at Piazza Grande, just a few minutes away.
