    If you are traveling by car, start from Dushanbe, the capital city of Tajikistan. Drive northeast on the M34 highway towards the town of Shahrinav. After approximately 30 kilometers, follow signs to Iskanderkul Lake, which will lead you onto a smaller road that continues for about 50 kilometers into the mountains. The road may be winding and narrow, so drive cautiously. Upon arriving at Iskanderkul, you can find parking areas near the lake.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Iskanderkul Lake via public transportation, take a shared taxi from Dushanbe to the town of Shahrinav. This ride will cost around 20 TJS (Tajik Somoni) and takes about 1 hour. From Shahrinav, you can catch another shared taxi that goes directly to Iskanderkul. The fare for this second leg is approximately 30 TJS, and it takes around 1.5 hours. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at Iskanderkul Lake.
