If you are in the city center, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head south towards Nyerere Road (A7) and follow it until you reach the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to Kigamboni, which operates frequently. Once on Kigamboni, continue straight on the main road (Kigamboni Road) for about 3 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Dar Es Salaam Zoo, which will be on your left.

From the city center, take a daladala (local bus) heading to Kivukoni. Once you arrive at Kivukoni, get off and walk to the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to Kigamboni. After disembarking, catch another daladala that goes to Kigamboni. Inform the conductor that you want to get off near Dar Es Salaam Zoo, and they will let you know when to disembark. The zoo will be a short walk from the bus stop.
