From Mikumi National Park, start by heading east on the A7 road towards Morogoro. The drive is approximately 75 kilometers and takes about 1.5 hours. Once you reach the town of Morogoro, continue to follow the signs towards the Morogoro mountains. You will take the B2 road, which leads you towards Rubwe. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the Morogoro mountains. When you arrive at Rubwe, navigate to the coordinates 3M7H+W8 (latitude -6.9352, longitude 37.6784) which will bring you to a scenic viewpoint of the mountains. Ensure you have enough fuel and water for the journey, as there may be limited services along the route.

To reach the Morogoro mountains from Mikumi National Park via public transport, first, take a daladala (local minibus) from Mikumi to Morogoro town. The fare is typically around 2,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings) and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Morogoro, you will need to find another daladala heading towards Rubwe. Once in Rubwe, ask the driver or locals for directions to the Morogoro mountains, particularly to the coordinates 3M7H+W8. Be prepared to walk a short distance from the daladala stop to reach the viewpoint. Always confirm the departure times for the daladala back to Morogoro to ensure you have a return trip planned.
