Getting There

  • Car

    From Mikumi National Park, take the A7 road heading towards Morogoro. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Morogoro. Once in Morogoro, follow the signs to Uluguru Mountains, which is approximately 10 kilometers from the town center. You will see a fork in the road; take the left fork (signposted for Uluguru) and continue straight until you reach the destination. Keep in mind that you may encounter some rough patches in the road, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. There are no entrance fees specifically for the drive to Uluguru, but make sure to check for any parking fees once you arrive.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Uluguru from Mikumi National Park using public transportation, first, take a dala-dala (minibus) from Mikumi to Morogoro. The ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours and costs around 2,000 TZS. Once you arrive in Morogoro, look for another dala-dala heading towards the Uluguru Mountains. This will cost you an additional 1,000-2,000 TZS and takes about 30 minutes. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to Uluguru. After you get off, you may need to walk a short distance to your specific destination within the Uluguru area. Always check the return schedule for the dala-dalas to ensure you can make it back.
