Getting There

Walking
From the center of Morogoro, head east on Kaunda Road towards Tengeru Street. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Kihonda Road. Turn left onto Kihonda Road and follow it for about 1.5 kilometers. As you walk, you’ll see local shops and restaurants on your way. After reaching the junction with the A7 highway, turn right and continue walking for about 3 kilometers. You will see signs directing you towards the Uluguru Mountains. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at the base of the mountains, where you can start your hike.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Morogoro city. Start by cycling east on Kaunda Road and then turn left onto Kihonda Road. Continue for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the A7 highway. Turn right onto the A7 and cycle for approximately 3 kilometers. Look out for the signs leading you to the Uluguru Mountains. This route is a bit hilly, so be prepared for some challenging stretches as you approach the mountains.

Public Transportation (Daladala)
To reach the Uluguru Mountains using public transport, find a daladala (shared minibus) heading towards Kihonda from the Morogoro bus stand. Board the daladala and inform the conductor that you want to go to the Uluguru Mountains. The ride will take around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Kihonda area, get off at the stop closest to the base of the mountains. From there, you can either walk or hire a local guide to take you further into the mountains.
